

HOW WE ARE GOVERNED
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Donegal Travellers Project is a Company limited by guarantee, not having a share capital and a Registered Charity with the Charities Regulator. DTP’s Constitution is made up of a Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association. Donegal Travellers Project revised the Constitution in line with CHY requirements in 2021.
DTP is governed by a board of directors, each member of whom commits to advancing the charitable purpose of Donegal Travellers Project, behaving with integrity, leading people within Donegal Travellers Project, exercising control over Donegal Travellers Project, working effectively and being accountable and transparent.
DTP is committed to the full participation of Travellers at all levels of the organisation. The nine members of the board also act as trustees of the organisation. At each AGM one third of the board members stand down and new members and a chairperson are elected. The Board meets once a month and its AGM is held every July.

CODES AND POLICIES
Our Codes, Policies and Procedures shape Donegal Travellers Project and ensure that we remain true to our values. We work to the highest standards of governance and accountability and strive to be honest and ethical in all that we do . Accountability, transparency and cost effectiveness are vital to us. -COMPLAINTS POLICY AND PROCEDURES
Donegal Travellers Project Complaints Policy and Procedures has been developed to ensure compliance with our obligations under the Health Act 2004 (Complaints) Regulations 2006. This policy emphasises that we must work to resolve complaints as quickly and as close to the point of contact as possible. Recognition of the Role of the Office of the Ombudsman has also been taken into consideration. The principles upon which this policy is based include:

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION AND REGULATION (GDPR)

DTP collects details provided by clients for the purposes of our programmes, media campaigns and publications in support of the Traveller and Roma communities in County Donegal, the North West and Ireland. DTP will only use this personal data where it is permitted by law. Here is a link to the DTP Data Protection Policy Its purpose is to assist DTP in implementing systems and procedures that will ensure as much as possible that personal data in our possession is kept safe and secure and to help DTP to meet its legal responsibilities. The policy has been created to reflect the specific requirements of Donegal Travellers Project.
USER RIGHTS
Under REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) you have the right to:


- Information about the processing of your personal data
- Obtain access to the personal data held about you
- Ask for incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete personal data to be corrected
- Request that personal data be erased when it’s no longer needed or if processing it is unlawful;
- Object to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes or on grounds relating to your particular situation;
- Request the restriction of the processing of your personal data in specific cases;
- Receive your personal data in a machine-readable format and send it to another controller (‘data portability’);
- Request that decisions based on automated processing concerning you or significantly affecting you and based on your personal data are made by natural persons, not only by computers. You also have the right in this case to express your point of view and to contest the decision.

There is no fee for this service and in line with GDPR we will respond to you within one calendar month of receipt of the request. You will be required to provide legal proof of your identify and address (for eg. passport or drivers license and utility bill).
You have the right to object to the processing of your data and DTP will respect that right but may need to continue to process your data where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or for compliance with a legal obligation to which DTP as data controller is subject.
